What kind of license do I need to drive the vans in Japan?You must have an international driving permit (IDP) & passport or a local Japanese driving license to drive our vans. Please see our page License Eligibility for more information.

What is the minimum rental period?The minimum booking period is 2 nights, depending on availability.

What are the payment options?Payment: Can be made via credit card through a payment link we will send you to complete 3 days before your booking date. We also accept cash in person before the handover of the van. Additional Details: Some credit cards may not work in Japan, so it’s advisable to have cash as a backup. For rentals starting within 2 days, the full payment is required upfront. A service fee of 3.25–3.75% applies to credit card payments.

Is there a booking deposit?Yes, a non-refundable booking deposit (20% of your total booking) is needed to secure your reservation. This will be applied toward your total rental cost.

ETC Toll Card QuestionsWhat is ETC? The electronic toll card is used to pay highway and road tolls as you travel through Japan. You will need this for your trip. How does your pricing system work? Initial Flat Rate: We are introducing an initial flat rate of 10,000 JPY for our camper van and other rentals. This amount will be charged in advance at the time of booking. Post-Rental Adjustments: After the rental period, we will assess the actual costs. If there are any excess charges above the initial 10,000 JPY, we will bill the customer for the difference. The customer will also be billed an ETC service charge of (1,000 JPY) + 10% tax and a payment service provider fee of 3.6%. Conversely, if the total charges are less than 10,000 JPY, we will process a refund for the difference. Does the initial ETC card fee go toward the tolls? Yes. Can you use your personal ETC card? Yes.

Where are the vans located?Pick-up and drop-off are available in Shibuya, Tokyo.

Can I change the pickup or drop-off location?We prefer to keep all pickup and drop off's at our main location in Shibuya, Tokyo but can customize this for an additional fee. For example, sometimes customers ask if they can drive the van to Osaka and leave it there. We can accommodate requests like this for an additional fee upon request.

What are the pickup and drop-off times?Pickup: 9:30 AM Drop-off: 4:30 PM Please contact us in advance to make other arrangements. Adjustments to pickup and drop-off times may be subject to an additional fee.

How far are you allowed to take the camper vans?Anywhere in Japan. You can enjoy unlimited kilometers with no extra charges for distance.

Is it possible to extend or change my booking?Adjustments or extensions to your booking can be accommodated if availability allows. Kindly reach out to us for further assistance.

Can you take pets in the vans?Small dogs are okay in our larger vans. Please ask ahead.

Do the vans have navigation?We provide a mount for your phone so you can download your route from Google Maps. Some of the vans have built in navigation but this is often only available in Japanese. We recommend you download your route on your phone ahead of your journey as you may have trouble getting signal in some parts of the country (mainly in the mountains).

Do the vans have winter tires?Snow or winter tires are available to be equipped on most of our vans for an additional fee. Please reach out to us 1 week ahead of your booking if you will require winter tires.

Can I use the portable gas grill inside the van?No, please only use the portable gas grill OUTSIDE of the van as using it inside the van can be dangerous.

What is a hot water bottle?A hot-water bottle is a container filled with hot water and secured with a stopper, used to provide warmth, often in bed, or to apply heat to a specific area of the body.

What is included in a portable power supply?Many of our camper vans are equipped with a portable power supply, providing a convenient way to charge your devices and power the onboard fridge (if your van is equipped with one). The power supply is recharged via the 12V "cigarette lighter" port located in the driver's cabin area.
